Challenge:

This project involves so many vendors for new FF&E, but I also need to move existing product from five high-congestion areas to the new facility. I need a flexible partner with logistics and vendor management expertise – and experience in lab moves – to help manage this project and mitigate the risks.

Services performed:

At the time of the project, we had already proven our logistics expertise to the client, centralizing and managing work orders all over the country, and dispatching project managers to be on-site for larger projects. Due to this success, the client decided to incorporate all vendors for new FF&E into our program and process, resulting in a centralized supply chain from start to finish. Flexible and forward-thinking, we also anticipated the challenges of navigating our straight trucks into high-traffic areas, scheduling pick-up and delivery in tight time windows in order to keep the project on time.

Technology Solution:

Our custom project management tool facilitates all of the services we provide. Created collaboratively with the client, our tool gives them visibility into warehouse inventory for all product stored in locations across New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. It also facilitates vendor management, allowing visibility to procurement. Finally, with our 24-hour commitment to acknowledge receipt of any task request, we can quickly respond to facilities needs anywhere in the country – sometimes on the same day.

Project Results:

We completed the consolidation on time and on budget, and continue to partner with this client today. In fact, when the company consolidates multiple offices into its new corporate headquarters in 2020, we will provide warehousing, inventory of existing FF&E, and relocation services for all offices and labs.
